Sounds arise from contrasts and include the back-and-forth between a soloing instrument and the voice, as well as engagement with other media. The Afterwald project sets conventional singer-songwriter structure in a semi-improvised bed. The two exemplars below were included in the installation, The Roads Continued On (2024), which tells a story of loss and being caught between great forces. It deals with relationships, migration, and spirit.
